How to get to Feofaniya
You can get to the Feofaniya garden and park complex from Kyiv in different ways:
- by route taxi No. 444k from the Vystavkovy Tsentr or Ipprodrom metro stations (along the route of the route of the route taxi), No. 556 from the st. m. "Akademgorodok" or bus #38 from m. "Demievskaya". You need to take any of these routes to the final stop "Ulitsa Metrologicheskaya", and then walk 350 m to the central entrance to the park;
- trolleybus #11 from m. "Demievskaya", "Goloseevskaya", "Vystavochny Tsentr", "Ippodrom", buses #57 from m. "Akademgorodok" or #496 from m. "Lukyanovskaya" to the stop "National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life", and then walk 1.5 km towards the Cathedral of St. Panteleimon, next to which there is another entrance to the park;
- by car - this is the best and most convenient way to get to Feofaniya. You only need to leave any district of Kyiv on the Big Ring Road and follow it towards the southwestern outskirts, to the exit onto Metrologichna Street, turn onto which, drive another 1.8 km and turn left onto Akademika Lebedeva Street. After 400 m you will see the central entrance to the park and parking on the left side of the road.

- a wide variety of plants – 86 species of bushes, vines and trees, many different flowers;
- majestic centuries-old trees: oaks (some of them are already over 300 years old), ash and maple trees 80-120 years old, hornbeams and lindens;
- ducks and various songbirds, squirrels and hedgehogs, 9 species of insects listed in the Red Book;
- elements of landscape architecture: gazebos, original fountains with sculptures, stone and forged bridges, wooden compositions and animal figurines;
- a unique cascade of ponds.
Interesting facts from the history of the park
The first mention of the area where the Feofaniya Park is located dates back to 1471. In the chronicles, this tract was then called Lazarevshchina, after the name of the pious Lazar, an elder who kept an apiary here. Later, this land began to belong to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, and in 1776 it passed to the treasury.
The name "Feofaniya" was given to this place in 1803, a year after the Senate of the Russian Empire transferred it to the ownership of Feofan Shiyanov, who was the Kyiv bishop at the time. It was he who built the Mikhailovskaya Church and the bishop's house on this land.
The construction of the Church of St. Panteleimon according to the design of the Kyiv architect E. F. Ermakov began in Feofaniya in 1905, and in 1914 it was already consecrated and remained active until the 1930s, when the Soviet authorities closed the cathedral and evicted the monks from the monastery premises.
In 1972, the Feofaniya tract received the status of a park-monument of national significance. All church premises were returned to the UOC community only in May 1990, and in 2002 the women's St. Panteleimon Monastery was founded here.
