Car renter's responsibility
Car rental has many advantages:
- you are not engaged in maintenance, insurance and repair of a vehicle (TS);
- you get the car in excellent condition;
- you can use the car, paying only for the operating time, without having to buy it;
- get access to the "wheels" even when you are far from home (travel, work trips);
- you can change cars, choosing status or economy models.

The terms of car rental include a clause stating that the lessee automatically becomes a trustee for the life of the vehicle. Consequently, the responsibility for illegal driving and other traffic violations while renting a car lies with the renter.
Liability of the lessor
The landlord is obliged to provide the vehicle that you intend to rent in good working order. Do not neglect checking the vehicle's working condition before renting it. If you receive a fine for incorrect operation of lighting fixtures, and you have not checked their performance, this will only be your responsibility. As for the lessor, he undertakes to insure the car in case of a traffic accident. In this case, if an accident occurs, in which the tenant is not at fault, all the costs of repairing the vehicle are covered by the insurance.
Also, the lessor's responsibilities include:
- regular payment of annual insurance premiums;
- maintenance and diagnostics of rolling machines.
Subject to the fulfillment of obligations by both parties, disputes are practically excluded.
Payment of fines
There is an opinion that the “deferred” fines, which are sent to the company by the car rental company as a result of fixing the surveillance cameras, may not be paid by the renter. This is not the case, because when concluding a lease agreement, you leave your passport data and TIN, and also take responsibility for fulfilling the terms of the agreement in writing. In the application for obtaining the service, the lessee indicates the date and time of the car delivery and the corresponding indicators of its return.
It is according to the entered temporary data (as well as trackers that are installed in most cars) that the lessor will be able to prove the need to pay fines by the lessee. The exceptions are situations where the vehicle has been stolen. In this case, an application to law enforcement agencies must be submitted before the moment of fixing a traffic violation. The procedure for paying the fine may differ depending on the agreement between the parties. The landlord can either deposit the funds transferred to him by the tenant or send the details for payment by the second party.
